KIAF(Korea International Art Fair) 鈥� Rising Globally

In order to follow up with such change, KIAF was firstly inaugurated in 2002. Its main objectives include revitalizing of Korean art market and making Korea a hub of global art trade venue. Other notable programs include Artist Support program, Forum and Lecture program, Docent Program and Kids Program offer wide range of festive activities to enjoy. KIAF鈥檚 excellence is represented in its performance too. KIAF2009 was held between 18-22 September at COEX, Seoul and despite the global economy recession and the outbreak of the influenza, there were total number of 56,000 visitors which showed the unchanging interest of KIAF from the public. As for the participating galleries, there were total 168 galleries from 20 nations which, once again, proved the global popularity of KIAF. The sales performance was satisfying too, with the total amount of USD 13.6 million, which was rather inspirational in comparison with the other art fairs in neighborhood.
