Art Gwangju 2010
To organize a singular and truly international art fair, Art Gwangju will feature not only contemporary art, but also contemporary design galleries from Japan, Sweden, Italy, Germany, the United States, Spain, China, France, and Korea amongst many others. Located at the center of Northeast Asia and the Pacific, connecting major metropolises like Beijing, Tokyo, Shanghai and Osaka within two hours, Gwangju is set to be the center of culture and transportation in a region that holds great art market potential.
In addition to expanding the boundaries of conventional art fairs, Art Gwangju has invited a group of renown art professionals and collectors to participate in panel talks and symposiums to add an academic character to the fair. This program will address the opinions of the art world on the diverse and hybrid achievements of contemporary visual art.
Art Gwangju has already drawn much attention as a premier cultural event taking place in Asia this September. With the Gwangju Biennale and Art Gwangju opening in the same week, the leaders of the art world and art market will converge in Gwangju, making it an indispensable occasion to network and circulate art. The fair is accompanied by a full program of VIP events and special exhibitions which include a section showcasing the best young artists Asia has to offer (Emerging Asian Artists).
