On 15 edition of Art Herning is also a selection of high ambitions. Increased cooperation with Danish museums, art collectors and more of the country's finest galleries, make this year's Art Herning to the most ambitious exhibition in 15 years.
In late January - more specifically, from the 27th to 29 - The gallery owners, collectors and art enthusiasts from across the country again flocking in Herning Conference Centre. This weekend adorn this year's first major art event, Art Herning, tradition, convention center with paintings, sculptures, videos, installations and photographs from around 200 Danish and international artists.
38 galleries participating in the exhibition, which this time also marked by a series of new initiatives. Among other things, the museum HEART Herning participate with a booth that displays video art by people like Joseph Boys, Peter Land and Paul McCarthy.
Additionally, the Danish Gallery Association are co-organizers of the exhibition, also invited a number of galleries to participate who are not members of the association.
- We have done this to get some new blood and inspiration mixed into the staff of exhibitors, says Louise Rahbek, Vice President of the Danish Gallery Association and a member of exhibition committee for Art Herning.
- The exhibition will be different this year than usual. And we also have several exhibitors with than usual, but visitors can still expect to look great inspiration from the galleries, which also tend to participate in the exhibition. We keep the tradition of straight and also offers some new, says Louise Rahbek.
On opening day, Friday the 27th January, visited the exhibition on a number of representatives from various museums. So this time there will be both professional and private buyers among its visitors.
