The International Contemporary Art Fair will hold its eighth edition from 13 to 17 February 2013, at the Chamart铆n Station Attic.
Art Madrid changed their location to the new Chamart铆n Station Site.
In tune with the art market itself, affected by the economic and business model changes, and according to the objective targets of their own art galleries, Art Madrid believes that it is time for a change.
Therefore it has decided to design a different Fair model better adapted to the current circumstances. Because of that, Art Madrid bets on increasing its quality and on a smaller format, with the presence of about 40 galleries.
The main change is the relocation; from Casa de Campo to the Chamart铆n Station Attic. This new place features a diaphanous and vaulted space, ideal for a contemporary art fair. In addition, the new location -as one of the biggest Spanish Transport Stations- will provide access to a greater number of facilities and visitors, which can arrive by car, subway and commuter trains. The fair will have a large space of 2,500 square meters for exhibition.
Art Madrid will host the One Project Program again, curated by critic Javier Rubio Nomblot, who was already successful last year, and which is focused on presenting galleries to artists under 40, with a solo show format.
Also and as a novelty it will present the Offland Program, aiming to exhibit works from galleries around a topic: Art and Society. This program will also be curated by Javier Rubio Nomblot, and reaffirms our commitment to contemporary art and artistic practices that reflect the spirit of our society and treat about their fate.
Art Madrid will have stands of 20, 30 or 40 square meters, adapting to the market needs and with prices in line with the current situation.
