Art Stage Singapore, Asia’s new premier international art fair focusing on the Asia Pacific art scene and art market, today announced the list of contemporary and modern art galleries and artists that will be participating in next year’s inaugural fair.

Set to debut at the iconic Marina Bay Sands on 12th January 2011, the fair will feature a selection of over 100 of the world’s leading and up-and-coming galleries in a showcase of the best and most exciting of Asian artistic creativity. An international show with the right balance of Asia Pacific galleries juxtaposed against carefully selected Western galleries, Art Stage Singapore’s exhibitors represent 19 countries and have been handpicked via a stringent selection process based on the fair’s cornerstone criteria of quality and the presentation of art in context. Visitors will be treated to a spectacular spread of works by established names and new discoveries.

Internationally renowned galleries that will be showing at Art Stage Singapore include Arario Gallery (Seoul/Cheonan/Beijing/New York), Boers-Li Gallery (Beijing), Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin (Paris/Miami), Eslite Gallery (Taipei), Galerie Hans Mayer (Dusseldorf), Galerie Michael Janssen (Cologne/Berlin), Schultz (Berlin/Seoul/Beijing), & Rossi (London), Nature ShanghART (Shanghai/Beijing) and Tomio Koyama Gallery (Kyoto/Tokyo).

Committed to encouraging the discovery of rising stars in the art world, Art Stage Singapore is proud to feature Project Stage, a platform dedicated to young galleries and artists actively engaged in nurturing up-and-coming talents and pushing the envelope with new ideas and practices. Project Stage exhibitors include: Galerie Grand Siecle (Taipei), LDX Contemporary Art Center (Beijing), Megumi Ogita Gallery (Tokyo), One & J. Gallery (Seoul), Project Fulfill Art Space (Taipei), PLATFORM3 (Bandung), Shrine Empire Gallery (New Delhi), Gallery TAGBOAT (Tokyo), Vanguard Gallery (Shanghai) and Vivi Yip Art Room (Jakarta). To show art in a historical context, selected modern art galleries and dealers such as Anna Ning Fine Art (Hong Kong), Patrick Cramer (Geneva) and Edouard Malingue Gallery (Hong Kong) will be presenting works by modern masters including Alexander Calder (USA), Henry Moore (UK), Joan Miró (Spain) and Pablo Picasso (Spain) from the West and from the East, Zhu Dequn (China/France) and Zao Wou-Ki (China/France).

Visitors to the fair can also look forward to stunning solo presentations specially tailored for Art Stage Singapore – from both established artists such as Yayoi Kusama (Japan), David LaChapelle (USA), Li Hui (China), Xu Zhongmin (China) and Zhou Chunya (China) to over 20 special projects by outstanding young artists under the banner of Project Stage.
