Chic Art Fair 2011

After the success of the first CHIC ART FAIR in 2010, CHIC is continuing to evolve and is offering a new expression of the current world through its ever sharper viewpoint on contemporary creation.
Showing a selection of works in direct contact with the contemporary moment as well as art forms that represent it, CHIC ART FAIR is pursuing its investigation of the present with a fair that is purposely showing fewer galleries but that is now composed of four specific sections:
Contemporary art: artistic director Eric Corne, artist and curator, founder of the Plateau (35 exhibitors)
Innovative design: artistic director Martin Rinderknecht, design specialist and before head director of Preview Berlin art fair (15 exposants maximum)
Street Art, artistic director Nicolas Laugero, director of Artistik Rezo (8 exhibitors)
Limited edition artist鈥檚 books, prints and other multiples (20 exhibitors)
CHIC is taking over the entire building of the Cit茅 de la Mode et du Design, with:
Live street art: the association Le Mur is inviting artists to work on the Seine level of the building
CHIC Dock and Dock in the sky, proposed by Dominique Jakob and Brendan Mac Farlane, who are orchestrating a new way of experiencing the building that they created, through monumental installations
CHIC ART FAIR is also the source of events such as:
Video Night, a curatorial offering from PvonK, Berlin
A programme of performances, by Frasq
BatoCHIC River shuttleboats from the Grand Palais (Mus茅e d鈥橭rsay and Saint Germain des Pr猫s stops)
A prize delivered by a prestigious jury
The party that closes the week of contemporary art in Paris, organized in partnership with Entrisme.
CHIC ART FAIR benefits from the support of:
numerous institutions: the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Industry, the Water Company of Paris, richly varied press partnerships, Made In Design, leader in design sales on the internet, who will provide the furniture of the fair
