Conceived in 2009 by Elizabeth Dee and Darren Flook and developed in collaboration with creative advisor Matthew Higgs and executive director Laura Mitterrand, Independent is an invitational art fair devised by and for gallerists that strives to re-examine the traditional methods of presenting, viewing and experiencing contemporary art. Independent Brussels, led by co-directors Olivier Pesret and Liv Vaisberg, is the fair鈥檚 first edition outside of New York.
Independent Brussels will feature over 60 international galleries and non-profit institutions drawn from 30 cities, with many solo and site-driven projects.
