Los Angeles Art Show 2011
LAAS is a driving force for the City鈥檚 Arts Month鈥攅ach January. Sponsored by the City of Los Angeles as well as the Department of Cultural Affairs, Arts Month is scheduled to coincide with the prestigious LA Art Show.
The LAAS was created to help to position Los Angeles as a world-class art destination. The success of LAAS 2010 reinforces that this is being achieved. The fair is now positioned as an international destination for the art-buying public and its popularity reconfirms the ambitions and commitment of LA鈥檚 homegrown collectors.
The show has spawned numerous off-site events, gallery openings and parties to engage attendees and grow the festive atmosphere surrounding Arts Month each year in Los Angeles.
Additionally, given the inclusion of numerous international galleries, LAAS 2011 will be a showcase for art market trends in Asia, Latin and South America and will also include art works from international cities involved with the Los Angeles Sister Cities program. This program creates and strengthens relationships between Los Angeles and her 24 sister cities around the world. With a mission to promote peace and understanding, from people to people, the Sister Cities will curate a special exhibition of works from 24 international artists exclusively for the 2011 Los Angeles Art Show.
