The NEW CITY ART FAIR is the one and only contemporary Japanese art fair in NYC. Taking place in Chelsea, at hpgrp GALLERY NY located at 529 West 20th Street, the show will be open from March 7-March 11, 2012. There will be 11 participating galleries from Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
The NEW CITY ART FAIR will focus on showing original works by Japanese artists. After the earthquake and tsunami, many Japanese artists have changed their practice to reflect their reactions to the disaster, as well as the resulting economic troubles in Japan. Therefore, The New City Art Fair will be the first opportunity for them to show their new body of work to the world.
