The San Francisco Fine Print Fair is an annual exhibition and sale that takes place in January at Fort Mason. This beautiful and historic venue is located on the marina with a view of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Seventeen select fine art dealers from United States and Canada will come together to exhibit and offer for sale inventories comprising five centuries of fine prints ranging from Old Master to Contemporary. The public is invited to view and buy original etchings by Rembrandt, woodcuts by Dürer, lithographs by Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall, German Expressionist prints, prints by Hiroshige and Hokusai and California artists, and many more major and minor artists.
The show offers connoisseurs and new collectors alike an opportunity to examine and learn about the history of printmaking, printmaking techniques and the work of many artists. The show gives the public a rare opportunity to ask questions from knowledgeable dealers. The fair is free and open to the public. The San Francisco Fine Print Fair is sponsored by the International Fine Print Dealers Association.
