The annual IFPDA Print Fair is unique among the world's major art fairs for its focus on fine prints from all periods. All dealers exhibiting at the Fair are members of the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA). The Fair is the highlight of New York Fine Art Print Week, an annual schedule of exhibitions, gallery talks, demonstrations, and expositions in New York during the week of the Print Fair. Visitors to the Fair have an unrivaled opportunity to view and acquire outstanding works across the diverse range of periods and specialties represented by the IFPDA鈥檚 eighty-nine exhibiting members. While the Fair is known among museum curators and major collectors for its rare and exceptional prints, excellent works can be found in all price ranges, including exciting new projects from today鈥檚 leading and emerging artists. Show Dates & Hours Thursday, 10/30/08 鈥 Saturday, 11/1/08: 12 鈥 7 pm Sunday, 11/2/08: 12 鈥 6 pm Admission Click here for advance purchase. Daily: $20 Two-day Pass: $30 Run-of-Show: $40 Admission payable by cash or check at the door during show hours. Reduced price admission ($10) for senior citizens (65 and older) and students with I.D. Reduced admission tickets must be purchased at the door. Children under 12 admitted free. As part of its mission to promote a greater appreciation of prints and editions, the IFPDA sponsors an educational event on Saturday at the Print Fair. The Print Fair Program is free and open to the public. Programs in recent years have brought collectors, curators, art historians, and artists together to share their perspectives with distinguished guest moderators. 鈥淭he Primacy of Prints鈥 Saturday November 1, 11:00 am The Tiffany Room at the Print Fair Brett Littman, Executive Director of The Drawing Center, leads this discussion with noted contemporary artists Jane Hammond and Red Grooms, and Craig Zammiello, master printer at Two Palms. Opening Night Preview Party Wednesday, October 29, 5pm 鈥 9pm This celebratory evening offers a first look at the Fair鈥檚 many exquisite offerings before it opens to the public. This year鈥檚 beneficiary is the Department of Prints and Illustrated Books of The Museum of Modern Art, New York. Tickets are required for this event. Purchase tickets online at www.moma.org/printfair Artist Ed Ruscha has created this year鈥檚 benefit print in a limited edition of 75 for those who purchase a ticket at the Lead Benefactor ($10,000) or Benefactor ($3,000) levels, subject to limited availability.
