Every detail of the book offers carefully nuanced details of the experience of a place named Lucid Green; a nature sanctuary set in an unknown time in the future. AMBACH & RICE presents New Car Smell, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles based artist Michael Decker. Decker’s multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, drawing, video, performance and sculpture. New Car Smell features works that include monumental cardboard assemblages on panel, canvases derived from collaged fragments of silk screened t-shirts and reassembled text based bas-reliefs. Comprised of pop culture detritus, obsolescent packaging and slogan strewn t-shirts, this work coalesces formally and conceptually to illuminate Decker’s unique poetic taxonomies. read more...

For Check please, his second solo show at Western Exhibitions, Ryan Travis Christian presents graphite on paper drawings featuring his signature cartoon-style alongside a second suite of works on paper and sculptures that employ color. These new bodies of work introduce new elements and motifs (chevrons, spirals and lighting bolts), building on the artist’s already extensive and distinct visual vocabulary (zig-zag linear patterns, hallucinatory energy, optical illusions and fractured spaces).
