Gagosian New York will pay tribute to the late Richard Artschwager with an exhibition of his last works. “Richard Artschwager: No More Running Man” coincides with the major touring retrospective organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art in collaboration with Yale University Art Gallery, currently on view at Haus der Kunst in Munich until January 26. Tickling many genres but cleaving to none, the art that Artschwager produced over the span of fifty years has been variously described as Pop art, because of its derivation from utilitarian objects and incorporation of commercial and industrial materials; as Minimal art, because of its geometric forms and solid presence; and as Conceptual art, due to its cool and cerebral detachment. read more...

at Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery, Conway Street
London, UK
Jan 09, 14 - Feb 01, 14
Born in Drumchapel on the western edge of Glasgow in 1967, Alasdair Wallace grew up on that unfixed and unsettling margin between the modern city and the countryside that surrounds it. The world of his childhood was one of tower-blocks silhouetted against the distant hills, where the sodium-glare of a street lamp might suddenly illuminate a fox, where abandoned domestic appliances hung in the branches of thorn bushes, and wind-born Tesco bags sported with the circling birds. The recurrent elements in his artistic landscape have gained an almost symbolic force. read more...
