Polymorphia is an intervention into spatial constants that dictate our everyday life. By introducing an anamorphic structure derived from the space of the gallery itself, this show explores the gap between perception and reality. Mike Hewson’s installations open up a dialogue between art and architecture by questioning the nature of our relationship to civic spaces. He is currently working on large-scale digital print installations on structures destined for demolition in the cordoned red-zone of Christchurch’s CBD and recently held a residency with the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority. read more...
