Romantic Reflections
SCOTTSDALE * London artist Peregrine Heathcote blurs the boundaries of time, using images from bygone eras as backdrops for modern-day jet-setters. Vintage cars, propeller planes, and transatlantic ships set the scene for beautiful women and. dashing men dressed in current fashions. Bonner David Galleries introduces Heathcote's work in a show titled Romantic Reflections, which opens with an artist's reception on Thursday, November 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. and continues through November 30. Two for One
Paintings by husband-and-wife duo Walker Moore
SCOTTSDALE * The collaborative paintings of John Walker and Roxann Moore are on view this month at Duley-Jones Gallery. The two artists started painting together in the early '80s when John drew a small seagull on one of Roxann's seascapes. Since that time they have developed a unique team approach, taking "shifts" as they trade a painting back and forth, usually 10 or more times. While the results of this collaboration can be unpredictable, their subject matter is not: stark architectural elements - windows, doors, stairs, passageways - devoid of people. Roxann compares their work to "an empty stage in a theater, a place where the imagination of the viewer is invited inside to complete the painting." The show runs November 1-30. For more information: 480.945.8475 or www.duleyjones.com.
