Analysis of Flight Data: Art of the 80s - A Dusseldorf Perspective

The exhibition analysis of flight data sheds light on the art of the 80s, as it appears from Dusseldorf perspective. In the work of ten international artists will be presented today, coming from the environment of the academy. Is complemented by the selection of specific confrontations with works by six artists from other countries with similar attitudes, objectives and working methods.

In the 1980s radical upheavals have on the modern addition in its familiar form. In the context of the D眉sseldorf Academy, the critical potential of the avant-garde is indeed included, but also expanded and changed permanently. The visual, the metaphor, the narrative, memory and the production received new weight. Modernism reflects itself and opens the themes and forms of contemporary life-world.

The exhibition features key works by artists such as Katharina Fritsch, Isa Genzken, Ludger Gerdes, Andreas Gursky, Candida H枚fer, Harald Klingelh枚ller, Reinhard Mucha, Thomas Ruff, Thomas Sch眉tte and Thomas Struth. They are complemented by works by Richard Deacon Peter Fischli / David Weiss, Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Wall and Franz West, involving the international context.
