Contemporary Confluence: Selections from the Permanent Collection
The exhibition Contemporary Confluence: Selections from the Permanent Collection features over forty works from the Permanent Collection of the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art. The exhibition runs from September 4 鈥� October 10, 2025. The public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday, September 4, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at 103 Garland Hall. The SMGA is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. 鈥� 4:30 p.m. when school is in session.
Selections were curated to feature a broad range of works both in terms of art media, dates of production, art movements and diversity of artists. Works by nationally acclaimed artists can be viewed alongside lesser-known regional artists. Comparisons between these artists鈥� trajectories make for a fascinating relationship among the works in the gallery collection that are unique to West Alabama. This exhibit is an opportunity for art patrons and students to pursue in-person experience with contemporary art that is on view in their own community.
