Convergences

07 Nov, 2025 - 11 Jan, 2026

Fondation CAB Saint-Paul-de-Vence presents CONVERGENCES, a group exhibition bringing together four artists around form, space, and materiality. Curated by Albert Baronian, a historic Belgian gallerist, the exhibition offers a dialogue between generations and mediums.

At the heart of this dialogue, the exhibition highlights the legacy of Fran莽ois Morellet (1926鈥2016, Cholet, FR), a major figure of concrete and minimal art. Throughout his life, he explored geometry, systems, and chance, paving the way for generations of artists and leaving a lasting influence on contemporary creation. His conceptual rigor and inventive freedom resonate directly with the works presented by today鈥檚 artists.

Charlotte vander Borght (1988, Brussels, BE) extends this reflection by diverting industrial materials that she subjects to constructive rigor while imbuing them with poetic and symbolic meaning. Alain Biltereyst (1965, Brussels, BE), for his part, draws inspiration from the graphic language of urban and commercial signage, which he translates into abstract compositions with subtle rhythms, oscillating between familiarity and pure abstraction. Finally, Olaf Holzapfel (1969, G枚rlitz, DE) explores the relationship between nature and culture, working with wood, straw, and architectural structures that he transforms into genuine plastic languages.

This encounter illustrates a continuity between minimalist heritage and contemporary creation: Morellet鈥檚 geometric rigor and structural research find resonance in the spatial, material, and pictorial explorations of his successors. CONVERGENCES thus explores the tension between plastic language and environment, while underlining the historical and poetic dimension of these practices.

The exhibition will be held during the winter at Foundation CAB in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, from November to mid-January, offering visitors an immersive and contemplative experience at the heart of geometric and minimal art.
