Automat is proud to present There. Again, a two person exhibition investigating domestic narratives and the legacies we ascribe to our heirlooms.
Elizabeth Hamilton鈥檚 meticulous reproductions of fine china on paper plates, alongside
David Beker鈥檚 non-traditional cabinetry and reimagined domestic forms, work to draw us into a scene both familiar and otherworldly. The objects invoke a sense of dislocated d茅j脿 vu, as if unearthed in an adjacent multiverse or a parallel moment in time. This interplay of contrasting materials and forms challenges the boundaries of authenticity, referencing the fragility and persistence of family history, and inviting viewers to find new meaning in the repurposed relics that shape our lived experience.
