May 01, 2025 - May 24, 2025

George Rodriguez's ninth solo exhibition at Foster/White, CLAP CLAP Clap Clap Clap clap clap clap clap DOG SHOW!, opens First Thursday, May 1 from 6 - 8 pm with the artist in attendance. The exhibition runs until Saturday, May 24. the gallery will host a free Best in Show Dog Show event on Saturday, May 3 at 2 pm. We encourage people to bring their dogs to participate in a series of categories (such as tricks, costumes, runway). At the end of the event, our judges will vote on which dog is Best in Show, and the winner will receive a medallion created by Rodriguez.

George Rodriguez creates highly ornamented, figurative ceramic sculptures, often underlined by a connection to the sociopolitical issues the artist explores. Themes of culture and identity recur throughout his sculptures, celebrating the unique attributes of diverse cultures and the similarities that unite them. Rodriguez eloquently communicates the emotions each form embodies; his figures span a wide range of forms and personalities, with echoes of African, Italian, and South American ceramic traditions.
