Ian Hamilton Finlay: Fragments
To mark the centenary of the birth of IAN HAMILTON Finlay (1925-2006), Stampa presents "FRAGMENTS", an exhibition of the Scottish artist, poet and founder of the artists鈥� garden "Little Sparta".
Finlay's artistic work was dedicated to Concrete Poetry and its visual expressions, manifesting itself in a variety of themes, including poetry, history and natural philosophy. As one of the most important British exponents of Concrete Poetry, he gave language a new material form, thus poetically inscribing it into the world.
The recently published book "FRAGMENTS" accompanies a series of anniversary exhibitions which are curated by Pia Maria Simig and taking place in eight international galleries from Basel to New York.
