Ian Hamilton Finlay: Fragments
To mark the centenary of the birth of IAN HAMILTON Finlay (1925-2006), Stampa presents "FRAGMENTS", an exhibition of the Scottish artist, poet and founder of the artists鈥 garden "Little Sparta".
Finlay's artistic work was dedicated to Concrete Poetry and its visual expressions, manifesting itself in a variety of themes, including poetry, history and natural philosophy. As one of the most important British exponents of Concrete Poetry, he gave language a new material form, thus poetically inscribing it into the world.
The recently published book "FRAGMENTS" accompanies a series of anniversary exhibitions which are curated by Pia Maria Simig and taking place in eight international galleries from Basel to New York.
