Jeune Cr茅ation Internationale
Since 2009, the IAC has hosted the Rendez-vous event, renamed Jeune cr茅ation internationale in 2019. This event brings together the Lyon Biennale, IAC, the Museum of contemporary art鈥搈acLYON and an art school in the Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes region, which this year is the 脡cole Sup茅rieure d鈥橝rt Annecy Alpes (ESAAA). Ten emerging artists鈥揻ive each from the regional and international scenes鈥揾ave been invited to imagine a project for the 17th Lyon Biennale.
For this latest edition, the regional artists were selected via a call for projects open to all artists with ties to the Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes region. The international selection, however, was made through invitations extended to curators and in conjunction with other biennials and cultural institutions. With in situ residency periods, the strong emphasis on making new work provides artists with the opportunity to realize unprecedented projects.
