52 Walker is pleased to announce its ninth exhibition, which will feature the work of New York鈥揵ased artist Kayode Ojo (b. 1990). Composed from ready-made items of leisure, luxury, and revelry, Ojo鈥檚 sleek sculptures move between the related visual languages of delicate minimalism and glittering opulence, foregrounding the transformative power of the material object and its ability to move its owner through dimensions of time, place, and social status. Replete with transparent and reflective surfaces, Ojo鈥檚 work examines the intricacies of personal and popular nostalgia by archiving the physical traces of the body鈥檚 most tantalizing and precious artifacts. This will be the artist鈥檚 first solo presentation in New York since 2020.
