Mark Entwisle: The Things We Forget

03 Mar, 2016 - 15 Apr, 2016
Mark Entwisle鈥檚 paintings have a casual and uncomplicated honesty of observation, coupled with an emotional directness.  He treats his canvases as the pages of a diary 鈥 the subjects are his family and their friends and everyday objects and places. Mark Entwisle has lived in North London since the 90s.  He began his career illustrating book covers, with great success (for Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the Vintage edition of P.G.Wodehouse, Somerset Maugham, Aldous Huxley amongst others).  Gradually he moved towards painting without agenda, although the graphic edge to his realism is a clue to the beginnings of his career.
