Nuria Maria: NECTAR
Alzueta Gallery is pleased to present the first solo exhibition in Paris by Nuria Maria (Limburg, Netherlands, 1990), on view from October 15 to November 15 at 8 rue des Beaux-Arts.
The end of summer comes with a familiar shiver 鈥 that subtle ache of watching the bright days fade away. Yet through NECTAR, Nuria Maria welcomes Autumn with a sense of wonder.
Nature stretches endlessly around her studio, and every detail of the landscape becomes an opportunity to celebrate the steady, unshakable rhythm of the seasons. Nuria Maria seeks to capture the essence of a fleeting moment 鈥 a field of fading flowers, the shifting greys of the sky, a tree laid bare by the wind. In NECTAR, the smallest holds the whole. By infusing her canvases with these ephemeral instants, she defies the fear of nature鈥檚 slumber 鈥 choosing instead to honor its recurring song.
Her paintings turn Autumn into a luminous rest, a necessary pause after the brilliance of spring and the languor of summer 鈥 both a retreat and a burst of color. Autumn, for Nuria Maria, is not a decline but a promise: the quiet renewal of life, the certainty of cycles returning. Through a palette of deep browns, soft blues, and faded pinks, her works invite us to contemplate the subtle beauty of what fades away, to find in nature a reflection of our own emotions, and to recognize in every apparent ending the quiet certainty of a new beginning.
