Working across video, photography, installation, and text, Los Angeles鈥揵ased artist Samar Al Summary (b. 1988, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) investigates systems of power and patriarchy. Taking up the conditions of displacement, war, and economic collapse, her works explore the sites of the border, the ruin, and the archive to reveal complex and personal narratives of oppression and resilience.
