The Hilbert Museum helps Bank of America celebrate its 100th anniversary in Orange County with this collaborative showcase of works from the bank鈥檚 corporate art collection, which includes many of the same California artists collected and shown by the Hilbert Museum: Millard Sheets, Erle Loran, Paul Wonner, Robert Frame and more. Alongside them will be works by these artists from The Hilbert Collection, demonstrating the important impact these artists had on both commercial and fine art.
Bank of America has cultivated one of the most significant corporate art collections globally, comprising approximately 60,000 works. This extensive collection spans various mediums, including paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures, with a strong emphasis on post-World War II American art. Notable artists featured in the collection include Ed Ruscha, Frank Stella, Millard Sheets, Joan Mitchell, Thomas Struth, Faith Ringgold and William Eggleston, among many others. The bank displays these works in its corporate offices and actively loans pieces from its collection to museums worldwide, reflecting its commitment to making art accessible to broader audiences.
In addition to collecting art, Bank of America supports art conservation efforts. Since 2010, its Art Conservation Project has allocated over $20 million to preserve artworks in nonprofit institutions worldwide. Recent projects include the restoration of Claude Monet鈥檚 鈥淲aterlilies鈥� at the Portland Art Museum and Jenny Holzer鈥檚 LED artwork at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. These initiatives reflect the bank鈥檚 dedication to preserving cultural heritage for future generations.
Bank of America also offers a program called 鈥淢useums on Us,鈥� which provides its credit and debit cardholders with free general admission to more than 225 cultural institutions across the United States during the first full weekend of every month.
