Art Monaco 2010

29 Apr, 2010 - 02 May, 2010
Fifty-eight international galleries exhibiting hundreds of artists from all around the globe have been exclusively chosen for this year's fair by the Selection Committee. The exhibiting galleries include both emerging and established artists with young and innovative programs.

Furthermore, you will find thirteen galleries and studios presenting exclusively one artist: Alessandro Dubini Limited Edition, Atelier Terminal, Kehrig Fine Art, Neue Kunst Gallery, Koltchine Studio, Studio Rozga, Studio Sole, Art Valeri, Studio Bruton, Edward Waites Sculptures, Danny Brown Sculptures, Studio Borkowska, Atelier Kalliste.

Here is a preview of some of the multi and solo-artist exhibitors that will be present as of April 29 at Art Monaco '10:

Mazzoleni Gallery will put on display brilliant artworks by Italian artists such as Lucio Fontana, whose work incorporates spatial concepts or slash series on the surface of monochrome paintings. There-dimensional pieces by Agostino Bonalumi and Enrico Castellani of exuberant structures and colors, which playfully protrude and recede into space will also be on display.

Gallery Monteoliveto is bringing a vast collection of works by Alfieri, Boatti, Cherny, Cono, Funaro, Huyghe, Lieto, Menaldo, Montefoschi. Diagonal installation by Perini and colorful Sun Car by artist and humanitarian Loredana Alfieri will also be shown.

Rudolf Budja Gallery will exhibit pieces by Andy Warhol. Among well known paintings of "Portrait of a Lady" and "Lao II," one will also find a platinum print of Marilyn Monroe and Billy Wilder from 1959 by Fran Worth and Richard Pettibone's pop art appropriations.

Straight from Bangkok, the Thavibu Galleries are bringing artworks by Aung Kyaw Htet's and Jirapat Tatsanasomboon whose art not only expresses and communicates the imaginative aspects of their cultures, but reflects concerns that encompass spiritual, social and political issues of their region. The pieces are characterized by vibrant colors, serenity and beautiful detail.

Downey Gallery will present a special piece by Nikolay Blokhin called "The Girls of Venice." It is a play of imagination that unites past and present, dream and reality. Flashes of color that break from dark blue night and vital trembling of the pictorial spectacle convey feelings of both excitement and fear.

Galerie Berkowitsch will exclusively display works of art masters such as De Lempicka and Magritte, which haven't been shown to the public for over 40 years. Art Monaco has exclusivity for seeing and presenting these artworks.

Le Cameleon Gallery from French Antibes will present many fascinating works by Franck Verpillat and Albena. In the midst of multicolored palette of artworks that create concatenation, one will find himself in a world of magic and enchanting journey.

Australian Agathon galleries will bring works of aboriginal artist Tommy Watson. His works are very carefully done and represent a unique story or aspect of his life. But one of the most impressive features is his use of color, which celebrated for its appeal, is created through a rhythmic process of intense dotting, often accompanied by singing.

Valiant Art Gallery is preparing to cross the world to introduce some of the most unique expressions of Mongolian art. Often hidden to the world, whether of its customs, traditions or perceptions, these unique interpretations are beautifully captured and depicted in the dynamic paintings of artists Oilan and Enkhtaivam.

Galerie Pokorna will mount a sensual show of glass sculptures by Anne Jeitz and Vladena Klumparova who transform their emotions and feelings into a glass form. Transparent material with inner space, an interplay of light and form.

Hardcore Contemporary Art Space will present works by Morawetz. With forefront use of innovative and provocative medium, his work represents our post-contemporary society, touches on present universal subject matters as: genetics, environmental issues, abuse, cloning, politics, sexuality and other social topics.

Gallery Menouar will feature works of Francoise Nielly, whose massive, colorful portraits are painted on large canvases - some as large as 78 x 25 inches. Vivid, passionate creations from black-and-white photos show the artist's unfailing ability to interpret light, shadow, hue and tone by applying brilliant colors and daring strokes.

Solo artist Alessandro Dubini presents an inventive installation called "Design Forest" which will, "...highlight the multiplicity, variety, and diversity of ways of expression, moods and colors that may create emotions and sensations. In this magic forest, everyone is bound to find its perfect 'tree'..."

One of the newest additions will be the work of Korean artist Park Dae Cho, whose appealing portraits of children are best described with his own words: "...I paint thinking the value of the day is in present moment... the stone is a fossil of nature on which human time is carved. I bring these stones, which quietly observe human beings living in quietly sleeping worlds, into reality..."
