This June, as part of its 40th anniversary, Public Art Fund will present EARTH POTENTIAL, a new exhibition by emerging Estonian artist Katja Novitskova. Her first major institutional show and outdoor commission in the United States, the exhibition will transform Lower Manhattan’s City Hall Park into a surreal landscape with a new series of seven large, flat cut aluminum sculptures. The exhibition highlights the range of Wiley’s production, starting with examples of early paintings executed around the time of his 2001 residency at the Studio Museum in Harlem. American photographer Peter Hujar (1934-1987) started his career in the 1950s as an assistant to commercial photographers, but became a part of the group of underground artists, poets and musicians who formed the downtown New York art scene of the 1970s and 80s. Foam presents the exhibition Out of Camp by the Danish artist in the summer of 2017. Foam presents five recent series: Folded (2014-present), Scatter (2014-2016), Ghosts (2013-2014), Parts (2011-2014) and XCopy (2011-2012). Division Gallery is pleased to present Sky Leaks, a new exhibition by Toronto-based artist Scott McFarland. McFarland’s new body of work features thirteen cloud photographs, each of which contains anomalies unique to the mechanical and chemical process of analog photography. Aptly titled Sky Leaks, the series is based on the term ‘light leaks’, which refers to equipment defects that allow light to enter a camera and distort negatives with burnouts, shadows, colour casts and streaks. read more...

At the crossroads of art, cinema and theater, this cross-disciplinary exhibition is the first large survey to recontextualize the diorama with a renewed approach to the history of spectactorship, including the influence of science and technology, popular culture, fun fairs and exhibitions. To mark the eightieth birthday of the artist from Liechtenstein/Vorarlberg (Feldkirch 1937–2000 Vaduz) on 15 December, the Kunstmuseum is presenting the majority of the works of A.M. Jehle held in the collection. Her artistic work evolved from the late 1960s to the 1980s at a time when female artists were hardly heeded or accepted.
