BORN: Newcastle, WY. ART EDUCATION: Bachelor`s degree in painting with a minor in sculpture from Southern Oregon University. STYLE OF WORK: Whimsical realism. FIRST ART SALE: Sold a few pieces at my thesis exhibition in college. The show was based on the invention of light. SECOND-CHOICE CAREER: Work on a tug boat or be a landscaper. OTHER PASSIONS; I love to play basketball. And I love the ocean. TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE: I work from about 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. I take my wife to the ferry to go to work and then I come home and go to bed. I get too distracted during the day. MANTRA OR MOTTO: Collectors love cadmium red. FAVORITE STUDIO MUSIC: Anything on Internet radio station KEXP out of Seattle. PET PEEVES: Crows and the cost of cadmium red. FAVORITE ARTWORK: I`ve been inspired by the work of Gregory Gillespie and, most recently, by assemblage work by Joseph Cornell. I`LL KNOW I HAVE IT MADE WHEN... I used to say I`ll know I have made it when I move to the ocean. I just moved to the ocean two weeks ago. PRICE RANGE: $1,200 to $8,000.
