Born in 1961 in Surabaya, Indonesia, Tiong Ang grew up in the Netherlands and now resides in Amsterdam. His works engage in the search of intercultural encounters and have been shown in many international exhibitions, including the 2001 Venice Biennale. Venues for his solo exhibitions include the Florence Lynch Gallery in New York and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. He participated in group exhibitions at the 7th Shanghai Biennale, QUT Art Museum in Brisbane, Ex Teresa Arte Actual in Mexico City and at the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York. Tiong Ang is represented by Gallery Lumen Travo and Florence Lynch.
