20x20: Honduras Threads
Honduras Threads is an organization that aims to create employment opportunities for Honduran women, allowing them to earn enough money to provide for their families and improve their quality of life. By supporting these women, Honduras Threads helps them gain dignity and self-respect as successful providers for their families. Please note that Honduras Threads is a 501(c)(3) organization.
For this exhibition, we invited 22 Texas artists to create 20" x 20" black and white drawings that represent their unique styles and perspectives. These drawings were then presented to the 28 Honduras Threads women artisans, who selected the drawings that inspired them to create stunning embroidered pillow covers. Each original drawing will be paired with four different interpretations by the Honduran artisans.
