Alexandros Georgiou through his own and very particular artistic vision invites us to witness what he observes and consequently inspires him: the neglected, the ephemeral, the lonely - minor instantaneous details within everyday life and life in general, that come to pass. In recent years Georgiou鈥檚 artistic work is perfectly connected with traveling, wandering and observing 鈥� his inexhaustible source of inspiration for a body of work both artistic and literary, since it consists of image creation and text writing.
On his travels, the artist is not alone, several collectors and friends who support his work 鈥渢ravel鈥� along with him and receive daily, through the mail, the material Georgiou creates and collects on his way: handmade cards, pictures on which he intervenes, hand-painted black and white photocopies, music CDs, DVDs with movies or homemade videos, books, gadgets, jewelry, poems, souvenirs - without ever keeping any copies for himself. This material is accompanied by fascinating texts full of the artist鈥檚 adventures, daily experiences, thoughts and emotions thus enabling the recipients to follow him mentally on his trips in real time.
