History provides us with examples, narratives, strategies, and language for expression. How we choose to use these things is critical. By combining, filtering, ignoring these ideas we experiment to find a way out. I think we live in a time where history is both expanding and contracting. Because of this, it is extremely difficult to focus or accept these historical legacies. I prefer to look at everything as simultaneous and fragmented. Trying to strap all these histories together whether or not they fit correctly, constructing a mini-tower of babble of sorts. They should overwhelm and intrigue at the same time. (Artist Statement)
