Now known as the Mouton de Laine, Fran莽ois- Xavier鈥榮 celebrated sheep sculptures were first presented with the title Pour Polytheme, A reference to a passage in Homer鈥檚 Odyssey. It describes how Ulysses and his comrades blind the cyclops Polyphemus, and escaped from his cave by clinging to the bellies of his giant sheep.
