Art and Hope at the End of the Tunnel
USC Fisher Museum of Art is proud to announce the opening of our Fall 2021 exhibition, 鈥淎rt and hope at the end of the Tunnel鈥, a group show curated by renowned art critic Edward Goldman and featuring dozens of artists who call the Los Angeles area home.
The concept of the exhibition emerged out of the bleakness and ambiguity in the initial stages of the Covid 19 Pandemic. Goldman, who was still able to visit artists in their studios, asked the question 鈥渉ow has this difficult time affected your art-making?鈥. To his delight, the artists responded that it had allowed them to spend more time in their studio, creating art that had more focus and deeper meaning, giving Edward hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The USC Fisher Museum of art presents 鈥淎rt and Hope at the End of the Tunnel鈥, featuring artists such as Gaijin Fujita, Pam Douglas, David Hicks, Keiko Fukazawa, Lezley Saar, Manfred Muller, and Ferrari Sheppard among many others, is a celebration of the resilience of the Los Angeles art-making community and each individual artist鈥檚 ability to adapt and thrive.
