Artists of the Gallery Part II
Wall Drawing 524 ‘Tilted Form with color ink washes superimposed’ (1987) by Sol LeWitt gives the one tall gallery space something of a monumental character, while Wall Drawing 1180 ‘10.000 straight and 10.000 not straight lines within a four-meter circle’ (2005) strikingly occupies the other high gallery space and invites viewers to engage in long and careful observation.
The symmetrically arrayed architecture of the gallery proves an ideal vessel for these two installations.
Works by James Bishop, Antonio Calderara, Joseph Egan, Giorgio Griffa, Robert Mangold, Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Richard Tuttle and Fred Sandback add fine and very different accents.
