We Create have established a community land-art project on St Paul’s Road that aims to transform a small plot of abandoned land for the benefit of pollinators. Local beekeeper, Nathan Wylam, is managing beehives on the site and we are working with him to increase the diversity of plant life over time.

This project enables us to observe the hive and bee colony as a dynamic expression of ecosystem building. For the exhibition Bees In Common we have re-imagined The Wilson as a hive and its galleries supporting cells of activity. In this cell we have organised elements that reflect collective action and creative co-operation. The display will evolve over the course of the exhibition as workshops with different community groups take place.

Please use this space as an opportunity to dwell and to reflect on the shared spaces between humans, and between humans and nature.

We Create is an arts action group based in St Peter’s and St Paul’s, Cheltenham, that has been working together since 2016.

We Create co-produces projects and events with artists that connect people, investigate the area’s past, present and future, and catalyse opportunities for people to engage with everyday creativity.
