Bud Gordon Exhibition and Summer Gallery Group Show

Jul 05, 2018 - Aug 11, 2018
Given the long and diverse history of landscape painting it is not surprising that many artists still turn their gaze to the natural beauty of the environment, using mother nature as their muse. As evident in his contemporary landscape painting collection, Bud Gordon has taken cues from the past to create landscape art that is both evidently inspired and highly original. Bud Gordon is largely influenced by the Bay Area Figurative Movement, Sacramento Valley painters, Greg Kondos and his old professors, Wayne Thiebaud, Roland Petereson, and Manuel Neri. Gordon has a unique ability to create a gorgeous, layered terrain using thick oil textures and complex interactions of colors. Many will recognize the bright, warmly saturated colors of Sacramento valley that offer a natural beauty to compliment Gordon’s nuanced perspective. The biodiversity of these fertile valleys encourages the painter to explore textures of rocky mountains, sweeping fields of green, and rows of vegetation.
