In the late 19th century, artists such as Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts, Henry Fulwood and others congregated around the artists' camps of Mosman Bay. It was here that a young Howard Hinton met many of these artists who became good friends and he began collecting artworks, establishing a significant collection of works by some of Australia's most important impressionist painters. Now, over 100 years later, a collaboration has taken place between group a of contemporary artists from both the New England and Mosman regions, visiting and spending time in Mosman's glorious, harbour-side location to find new inspiration.

This special exhibition acknowledges the legacy of Howard Hinton, and the ongoing contribution he has made to enrich our lives through his vision, support of the arts and his understanding of its cultural and social value. By bringing together works by artists from the original camp and present-day artists, viewers can participate in a new conversation with the collection, viewing it in a contemporary context.
