Celebrating Canadian Women Artists

Mar 01, 2023 - Mar 18, 2023

The exhibition presents a unique opportunity to see important paintings from private collections through generous loans that have not been on public view for decades.

We are one of the few private galleries in Canada that can provide this broad view of Canadian women’s contribution to the national art scene by assembling this retrospective display of historical and contemporary art.

The exhibition also includes historical works by Molly Lamb Bobak, Maud Lewis, Prudence Heward, Rita Letendre, and Sybil Andrews  in addition to pieces by Emily Carr, Marcelle Ferron and Daphne Odjig.

Along with Wanda Koop, Ewa Tarsia and Dee Barsy, other contemporary artists featured include Meghan Hildebrand, Shuvinai Ashoona, Diana Thorneycroft  and Gathie Falk, 95, a former Winnipegger who is considered one of Canada’s most acclaimed contemporary artists.
