Collezione Malutta + Black Market

Feb 16, 2017 - Mar 04, 2017

For roughly a fortnight Monitor will become a project sharing space for the Fondazione Malutta, a group show including many artists presenting their works 鈥 paintings, sculptures, installations 鈥 and who will organise a flea market directly at the gallery only for the opening evening.

Monitor was prompted to invite the Fondazione Malutta to take part in this event by the belief that the gallery should be experienced as an alternative, dynamic space, a workshop of ideas where projects take form 鈥 a presentation opportunity for a new generation of artists taking their first, unconventional steps within the art system where they can experiment an alternative to their personal research.

So, what can we expect from this encounter? The gallery will be awash with a series of works that will interact freely with the space and timetable of its normal schedule. The group of artists will conceive a layout based on an experimental approach to the traditional system in which exhibitions are displayed and viewed. A number of individual identities will make up a single, large and multi-shaped collective artwork, outlining the founding principles of a reality that extends across the boundaries of all categorisation, capable of always creating new identities and collective mechanisms wherever those groups happen to gather.
