EM15: Here's One We Made Earlier
Surface Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition for our seventh East Midlands Graduate Project, EM15: Here鈥檚 One We Made Earlier.
The East Midlands Graduate Project supports Fine Art graduates from across the region as they make the transition from university to professional art world. Here鈥檚 One We Made Earlier is the culmination of a month-long residency. Selected artists have been commissioned to produce new work for a group show, and will exhibit an eclectic mix of painting, installation, photography, performance, and sculpture.
The eight very different artists have been brought together under the single roof of our Project Space for an intense period of exploration and creation. The results are as varied as their creators, ranging from Craig David Parr鈥檚 vision of a Trumpton dystopia to Gill Kaur鈥檚 interrogation of the domestic role of Indian women in her Chapatti Wife. The artists have also designed an unusual catalogue, which will be available throughout the exhibition.
