Emerging Talents: 2nd Edition

A group exhibition of prints and multiples. The exhibition is in conjunction with the SGC International Conference (March 16-19) hosted by Washington University in St. Louis - Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. The artists are CCC Strozzina presents the second edition of the Emerging Talents award, set up by the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi to draw the attention of critics and of the general public to young artists in Italy today.
The selection of the participant artists has been made by committee composed of 4 established Italian curators: Luca Massimo Barbero (dir. MACRO, Roma), Chiara Bertola (dir. HangarBicocca, Milano), Andrea Bruciati (dir. Galleria Civica d鈥橝rte Contemporanea, Monfalcone) e Giacinto Di Pietrantonio(dir. GAMEC, Bergamo). The works of the 16 nominated artists will be presented in the CCC Strozzina exhibition, providing the public with a starting point for discovering new trends of Italian contemporary art.
The winner鈥檚 name will be announced by an international jury, composed of Achim Borchardt-Hume (Whitechapel Gallery, London), Kelly Gordon (Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C.), Adam Szymczyk (Kunsthalle Basel), at the opening of the exhibition, on 18 February 2011. The prize will be the production of a monographic catalogue edited by the winner.
