The MuHKA collection begins where the collection of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp ends. This has in the past this already led to fruitful cooperation between the two museums. In 2006 thse museums together presented Homo Faber, a retrospective
exhibition of Jan Fabre鈥檚 work. In 2007 the MuHKA exhibited part of its collection in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts as part of Jubilee.
From 27.03.09 the MuHKA will be installing the Passing Through pavilion by the American artist
Joe Scanlan (b. 1961, Ohio) in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The installation was shown at K21 (D眉sseldorf) before. Since the 80s Joe
Scanlan has worked on the interface between art, design and architecture. Passing Through is an installation that can be adapted and moved and each time acquires a new interpretation. It is Scanlan鈥檚 ode to transience.
In this instance, the Potential Estate artists鈥 collective will provide the content for the pavilion, under the title Cabinet Jurino. The presentation consists of a growing collection of visual and textual material that is juxtaposed with
works by Jimmie Durham (1940, Washington) from the MuHKA collection. Cabinet Jurino will evolve in the course of the exhibition and will follow the pavilion in its movements through the museum.
