Gathered V: Georgia Artists Selecting Georgia Artists.
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA) is thrilled to present the 5th installment of the biennial exhibition Gathered V: Georgia Artists Selecting Georgia Artists. Esteemed jurors Krista Clark, Gregor Turk, and Lucha Rodriguez have selected artists for this year鈥檚 Gathered exhibition in order to showcase not only the breadth of talent across the state of Georgia, but also the depth.
The exhibition has steadily evolved over the last fifteen years from its original incarnation: Within State Lines, which took place in 2006 and 2009, to Georgia Artists Selecting Georgia Artists, 2013 and 2015, and finally, to Gathered: Georgia Artists Selecting Georgia Artists. The MOCA GA mission is fully realized within this project as artists are involved in all phases of the exhibition, including selection and review.
This year鈥檚 Gathered V exhibition will feature the artwork of 46 Georgia artists which were ardently selected from 300 applicants (comprising over 850 individual submissions, from 31 counties and 66 cities across Georgia). A wide spectrum of artwork including sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography, textiles and new media will be showcased. This year鈥檚 selections indeed rival past exhibitions, extoling the breadth and talent encompassed within the state of Georgia鈥檚 visual arts community.
