German Photography 1960 - 2012: A Survey
Ben Brown Fine Arts is pleased to present German Photography 1960 – 2012: A Survey, the first exhibition of Germany’s leading late 20th and 21st century photographers to be shown in Hong Kong. A range of photographic styles, techniques, media and formats will be presented in the gallery’s recently expanded exhibition space, which has nearly doubled in size, located in Hong Kong’s historic Pedder Building.
The survey presents examples from the oeuvres of Germany’s most prominent and innovative photographers, including Bernd and Hilla Becher, Thomas Demand, Günther Förg, Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, Axel Hütte, Anselm Kiefer, Jürgen Klauke, Astrid Klein, Imi Knoebel, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter, Thomas Ruff, Thomas Struth and Wolfgang Tillmans. The gallery will encourage visitors to spend time not only with the photographs but with the reference books on display to familiarize themselves with all the artists and varying styles of photography to have come out of Germany in the last fifty years.
