Gr酶nningen 2023
This year, 33 of Gr酶nningen鈥檚 members and two guest artists, Kaspar Bonn茅n and Kathrine 脝rtebjerg, will be exhibiting at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art. GR脴NNINGEN 2023 features paintings, objects, photography, sculpture, installation, video, textiles and much more 鈥� with one work even stretching across the building鈥檚 facade. The works embody an array of different perspectives, while also engaging in dialogue with each other in the exhibition space, adding to the artistic conversation between Gr酶nningen鈥檚 members that continues from year to year.
Alongside the main exhibition, Gr酶nningen also presents Gr酶nningen FOCUS in the basement of Den Frie, an exhibition that showcases weaving as an artform. The focal point of the exhibition is Jette Thyssen, a member of Gr酶nningen since 1979 who has explored the artistic potential of weaving from the 1950s to the present day. Also featured in the exhibition are Gr酶nningen member Eva Steen Christensen and guests Martin Erik Andersen, Nanna Debois Buhl and Pearla Pigao, each of whom works with weaving in a broader sense.
