In HOMAGE, Gallery Jones pays tribute to some of the most influential artists of the last century, both locally and internationally.
The exhibition features Peter Aspell, whose powerful and enigmatic imagery continues to provoke and influence the Vancouver art scene. A passionate and devoted artist, Aspell was born on Christmas Day, 1918 and passed away in 2004, at the age of 86. He was controversial, a risk taker, and a masterful colourist who developed his own primitive, expressionistic style of painting. His work has been collected widely by personal and public collectors including the National Gallery of Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Hamilton Art Gallery, the Kelowna Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.
