Huis Clos
The tension between light and shadow forms the central axis of Huis Clos, an exhibition that brings together Miguel Rio Branco and Iber锚 Camargo at Casa Zalszupin in S茫o Paulo from March 18.
In their own way, each artist approaches tragedy as an irreversible state of the human condition. In dense and visceral canvases, Camargo captured isolated figures in an oppressive world. In turn, Rio Branco presents various renowned photographic series, in addition to a new painting, titled Pequeno Inferno (2022鈥2023).
鈥淎s a counterbalance to the tragic weight of both artists鈥 works, the exhibition also includes furniture designed by Jorge Zalszupin. Many of these pieces were originally created for this house鈥攈is residence,鈥 explains Ant么nio Gon莽alves Filho, who curated the show with Andr茅 Millan.
